FRT Updates & What's Coming

Scan RO improvements, web updates, iPhone app status, and a request for your feedback.

I've been working on a number of improvements to Flat Rate Tracker over the past few weeks, and I wanted to share a quick update on what's happening.

Scan RO Improvements

Scan RO continues to get better. I've made several changes to improve reliability, handle more types of repair orders, and better recognize work order and vehicle information even when a document doesn't contain traditional labor operations.

If you run into a repair order that Scan RO has trouble reading or doesn't handle the way you expect, please let me know. Different shops use a huge variety of repair order formats, and your feedback helps me continue improving it.

Web Improvements

I'm also working on improvements to the FRT web interface. The goal isn't to add more complexity — it's to make the features that are already there easier and faster to use.

Some of the areas I'm working on include:

  • Clearer paid/unpaid work order status
  • Easier work order and flagged-hours management
  • Better use of space on desktop displays
  • Faster keyboard-based workflows
  • A simpler tracking experience for users who don't need all of FRT's advanced features

iPhone App

The FRT Cloud iPhone app has been submitted to Apple and is still waiting on App Store approval.

Unfortunately, Apple's review process has taken considerably longer than expected. The app is ready, and I'll make it available as soon as Apple finishes the review.

The Android app is already available on Google Play.

Your Feedback Helps

FRT has changed quite a bit, and I want to make sure the changes I'm making are actually improving the way you use it.

If something feels harder than it used to, something doesn't make sense, or there's a feature or improvement you'd like to see, please let me know.

Even small things — a button that's hard to find, something that takes too many clicks, or information you'd rather see differently — are useful to hear about.

For now, you can send feedback, suggestions, or questions anytime by email at [email protected].

Thanks for using Flat Rate Tracker and for helping me continue to improve it.
